  • Chaperones During Pool Rentals
    • Each group will be responsible for their conduct while in the facility and a competent leader, over the age of 18, will be the contact person.
    • The ratio of chaperones to participants will be 1 to 8 for ages 10 and under and 1 to 10 for ages 11 and over. Chaperones will be assigned to different areas of the YMCA based on group usage.
    • For pool parties, each group will have 1 adult, with their suit on and in the water, for every 3 kids aged 7 and under.
  • General Pool Rules During Rentals
    • All participants in a special event rental under the age of 13 must be swim tested to be in the deep end of the pool, regardless of swimming ability. If they have already taken the test, and are in our Membership Software as passed, they do not have to retake the test. All deep end swimmers should wear a wristband throughout the duration of the rental.
    • All YMCA pool rules are enforced during after-hours events.
    • Once all participants and chaperones have entered our building at the start of the rental, they should all come together with the YMCA staff to discuss rules, expectations, where certain activities will be held, and any safety considerations. All staff should also introduce themselves and field any questions the participants may have.
  • A climbing wall orientation is required for the group of active climbers (10-15 minutes in length). Orientation time will be included in the hour rental.
  • Athletic shoes are required (no sandals, boots, or crocs).
  • Shorts must be long enough to protect skin from the harness. Skirts, skorts or dresses are not allowed.
  • Participants must be 4 years of age or older to utilize the climbing wall.
    • Ages 3 & under may traverse boulder with a spotter (limited space for bouldering)
